In London 1858, some dude named Mr.T Barnes used this opening as black (1.e4 f6 2.d4 Kf7) and beat Paul Morphy with it. Does anyone play this opening; at all?

Erm... why not just develop normally & castle kingside without having to effectively castle by hand & lose time?

Are you sure of these moves? I have looked at
" http://www.chessgames.com "
and they give eleven games played by Paul Morphy against Thomas Wilson Barnes in London in 1858, and the final score was 7-1-3 to Morphy, so I think describing Barnes as a 'dude' is unjustified.
Possibly the game you mean is the one which begins 1. e4 f6 2. d4 e6; and Barnes went on to win in 50 moves.
