It was very drawish, and the only hope for a win was an outright blunder. I would've taken a draw. I'm going with Natural Science here. Trains, you're entitled to your opinions, unusual as they may be. But you must also accept that some of us just won't agree with them.
Accepted, Ark13!!!

Not plain and simple....wasn't a clear draw, sorry.
There is nothing about Black's position that suggests that he should win it. You need at least two advantages to win most games, and this goes double for endgames of bishops of oposite color. In the game of mine that I posted, the correct result up until about move 33 was a draw. He started pushing pawns and gave me another weakness to key in on, and I converted that into my second advantage. Without his help, I would not have been able to win that game. But if he had offered me a draw before he started pushing those pawns, I'd have probably accepted because I know he sees that it's drawn as well.

So, do you think you could win this position against me? I'll put my moey where my mouth is on this. Will you?

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ark; thought perhaps you had been banned from the forums.

I was. I posted in a closed thread, so I got banned, but Russ revoked them a day later.

I never bet on chess , but if thats a challenge, you're on. And I'd be willing to give that position a try. A full game , or that positional?

If we do it, that makes me the black to move, right? (POSITIONAL)

Thanks for your input guys.
But your opponent's skill at chess was also insignificant. 😉

I had my first endgame with bishops of opposite colour not long ago. I was a pawn down, and after reading up a bit on endgames I decided to exchange rooks, hoping for a draw. I ended up winning because my opponent messed it up. Game 1098865

In my second endgame with bishops of opposite colour, I just accepted a draw: Game 1210670

I know it is less fun, but can't someone with a decent chess engine just run it through their computer?

Thats ok....next time you will go for it with a one pawn up advantage, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS.

Ark says one thing, Trains44 says another - why not just settle the matter?

I meant more definitively than playing each other (which is not necessary).
