Has anyone got any funny stories from over the board games? I used to play in a league. On one occasion our opponents had set up the match in one half of a sports hall divided by a curtain, on the other side was an amateur boxing match going on, complete with shouting and screaming, bell ringing and all the rest of it. I couldn't hear myself think. My opponent and I decided to play two moves each, call it a draw and go and watch the boxing! lol.

A couple of years ago, during a Stanley Random Chess (SRC) match in London, I performed an Inverse Lateral Rook Catapult on move 27. Two neighbouring players and an official had to be rushed to hospital.

By the way, I think your exclamation mark would have been better placed after Wow. After all, it is an interjection.

I think it was a mistake to perform an Inverse Lateral Rook Catapult on move 27. The Inverse Lateral Rook Catapult usually doesn't work well if the move number can be divided by 9 (unless you have an East Facing Knight, of course).
And don't forget that this is a move which needs to be exercised in OTB play. It is not possible over the Internet.
I just got done playing in a otb tournament, about two weeks ago. Going into the last round I had 3.5 points. When I arrived for the last round the director informs me that there is one person with five point, and two with four points. the problem was that the two people with four points had already lost to the undefeated person. so that left me as the next highest person (points wise) for him to play. so me and my 1299 uscf rating ended up playing a 2240 rating. (i lost.)
