I dont really understand whats so great about blitz chess? Isn't it just a memory game? You have to know what move your going to make immediatley after your opponent moves. The winner is the one who has memorized more moves, right?

you get just a couple of 'memorized moves' at the start of the game, after that it's free fall, and usually the faster tactics cruncher will come out on top.

so isnt normal chess a memory game then? you even have much more time for recalling moves than in blitz.

sheesh...a memory game...that was a new one

Yeah but in "normal" chess if you dont remember you can "work it out" But in Blitz can you work it out? Also I'm just inquiring why do people on these forums always post snide remarks?

yeah of course I can work variations out in blitz chess. and guess what, I also do so. Do you really think that after, say, 20 moves you'll always end up with a familiar position where you can remember what you did last time in that same position??

I guess I just couldnt imagine working it out that quickly. the shortest game I can play is 10 min.
