    Capturing costs a tempo.

Put your pieces on the best/most effective squares.
  4. 14 Jun '11 17:53
Probably resigning and then doing 100 tactics problems as penitence would be best.

Play on. It 's one less piece to worry about.

If you win call it a sacrifice.

Try to confuse the issue, for example - if feasible, go for an attack on his King even if it exposes your King to attack as well. In general, you want some sort of counterplay; otherwise, you'll just be a spectator watching the opponent win a won game.

You want to give your opponent the chance to make a blunder of his own, hence the need to keep some sort of pressure on him. If you can't do it, the best choice may be to just resign and try to do better next game.

If it is OTB, smile, chuckle and whisper, "Thank you."

A Mod will stroll by and hopefully just remove the post.

I did it once. Yattered on about about a GIP.

Up on my white horse I climbed and pointed the way with step by step fen's
(in the days before the moving PGN thing) showing the lad the way.

Post pulled and warning PM duly received.

Thanks to those who alerted the posts in question. As greenpawn34 says, it's not fair - even if done in innocence.

    It's gone.

At least I had the courtesy to come on and tell you.

It's best to react quick else someone would have come on and told
him despite being a piece down he has mate in 46 moves. (oops).

    Did you get a PM?
