Today I bought two excellent books (in Russian):
1) Opening repertoire for an attacking chessplayer
2) Opening repertoire for a positional chessplayer
They suggest whole systems how to build your own repertoire - of course for OTB games generally.
Here is an example for an attacking player:
With White
1. e4
if 1. ... e5, then 2. Nc3 (Vienna opening)
if 1. ... c5, then 2. f4
if 1. ... f6, then 2. d4 d5 3. e5
if 1. ... c6, then 2. d4 d5 3. e5
plus advises against Pirz, Robatch, Aliohin, Nimzovitch, Owen and 1. ... a6
With Black - against 1. e4 Sicilian (preferrably Dragon)
against 1. d4 Dutch (Leningrad variation)
against 1. Nf3 1. ... f5 trying to reverse to Dutch or being ready to play Lisitzyn gambit
against 1. c4 1. ... f5 again aiming for Dutch
against 1. f4 1. e5 (Fromm gambit)
Seems interesting. Of course you can argue this set, but remember that it is not for grandmasters, for attack-minded and for OTB.
Originally posted by VovochkaI have both these books and they are good but contain some flawed analysis.😞
