Okay...that book by reinfeld although large and nice...is not for
beginners of today's standards...it is descriptive notation and actually
badly written.
I have it as well as alot of other ones by Fred...but for a complete
beginner...the ones I suggested will really get her on the right
track...then I will recommend others..staying along the good lines of
development.
And don't listen to Simon...just because he has books i don't doesn't
make them good...kinda like asking the music store I would like a
trumpet..and they say I am right out of those...how bout a shoe horn?
Not the same thing is it?
Sorry Si....had to hop on ya just a tickle for that one.

No prob Paul...anytime...after she and you go through those...then of
course the classic "Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess" is good...and
cheap...and then maybe step up to some books by Pandolfini...and
the one by his student and my friend Josh Waixtkin's Attacking Chess
is well written and very instructional.

I do own an extensive library which I have been building for many
years...in todays standards though...they sell discs for the comp which
some people feel better about.
Me? never!
A book I can hold and feel...I can search through it and find it..or see
something new everytime...when I die I plan to donate the whole
shebang to a nice library around here or something...but I think Beck
will sell them all on Ebay...so be watching for a weird deal of me falling
down the stairs sometime in the future.
Hehehehe just kidding...those books will go to help others to learn
what my passion for life has been all about.
