I hate those books with a passion. I am not talking about openings such as the Latvian Gambit or Grob (those are fun 🙂) , but about books like The Center/Defence Game or the Creepy Crawly Opening.

Is the Creepy Crawley also called the Hippopotamus?
If so, while passive, it's not to be under-rated & if you are quick to sieze chances it can be great in blitz.
In fact I have more success in blitz with that (both as black & white) than more conventional openings!
