After looking over Mr. Bobbob's thread about his 1st loss, I suddenly remembered a question I had completely forgotten about...
I play the c3 sicilian as black, with the line:
1. e4 c5 2. c3 Nf6 3. e5 Nd5 4. d4 cxd4 5. Nf3 e6 6. cxd4 b6, and usually continues 7. Nc3 Nxc3 8. bxc3 Qc7
My problem is I sometime come across players who deviate and play:
5. cxd4 e6 6. Nc3 and now here is my question...
Should I play 6...Nxc3 and after 7. bxc3, play Qc7 as normal and try and transpose back? The problem I see is that white could play f4 now at some point before Nf3, which may help him in the king side attack. Or could I play 6...b6 anyway, and then if 7. Nxd5 xd5, not worry about the doubled d-pawns as I can then play d6 to get rid of them, and also helps attack whites pawn chain.
Any advice welcomed.

This plan leads to Black having an isolated Pawn on an open d file, which I don't like. I prefer 6...Bb4.
Originally posted by CenterNutNimzowitch also talked about how it was both an advantage and disadvantage. Supposedly being able to push it is really important to being able to use it, but I don't understand how to extract any advantage from it or use it as part of a plan.

Originally posted by welsharnieI'm thinking ...Qa5 after Bd2, but I haven't looked at it carefully enough. The plan would be to fire down the c file at White's c Pawn in a hypermodern style. Black's b Pawn would help restrain it.
I don't like Bb4 as after Bd2 black could well end up a tempo down on normal lines ( as the bishop would have to retreat after Nxc3 bxc3) and if Bxc3 instead, white has a large central pawn mass which could be quite useful.
Originally posted by welsharnieI play sicilian as black, For 2. c3 I replied Nf6 but found e5 cramping and castling short not easy. I recently switched to 2..d5 (kasparov's reply against Deep Blue) Any opinions which is better. Also plans for black for 2.. d5.
