    Game 10416866

It appears you resigned here (Black to play)

    Because White is losing.

Black is threatening Rxh2 mate. To stop it you must give up your Knight.

An excellent winning try was here.

thats a great line GP - was it the almost Hook Mate pattern that made you think of getting the Rook over there. I am wondering how you spot these things...

The Knight on e5 covering f7 suggests itself.
A quick check to make sure there was no slick move Black could throw in.

    1. Rb7 Nd6

Hitting the Rook, holding f7 and still hitting the d2 Knight. That is a slick move.
    Fortunately White has Rd7.

After 1.Rb7 Rxd2 White can preapare the mate with 2.h4.
This leads to a humerous position.

    And then there is

Dude, did you just call out a player for not resigning a GIP. Only to get disgusted and resign what you thought was a winning game. Then post-mortems proved the extra material was moot, and in fact you were lost?

No offense but you're rated under 1200, what do you expect? You could drop a piece on any move. You also have a history of unusual resignations.

Vorgod was right to not resign against you. It certainly paid off for him.

He's also the most prolific poster in the etiquette thread. It will be interesting to see whether he considers publicly calling out an opponent for not resigning a winning position poor etiquette.

    Not if it's 2 Samuel 12:11.

If RB had written that verse, it would be, "say Hi to your wives for me."

Yeah, yeah, I know. "Take it to Spirituality, Spanky." 😞

Christians aren't perfect just forgiven. I believe that's a lie that Satan uses, is to think that Christians should have to be perfect. And another lie he uses is I need to get my life perfect before I can follow God.

That is perfectly fine, but when all someone plays is 1.e4 2.Qf3 or 1.e4 2.f4 or even 1.e4 2.d4 ???
