Saeid had 6 games going when he was banned.

2 were with Capa (banned)

2 were with kbear1k

and 2 were with johnmarin (also banned!)

If Saeid himself weren't banned, then he would have rotten luck with 66.66 % of his ongoing games against (assumable) engines !

I don't think I ever saw that rook maneuver in a Nimzo-Indian. I just loved it!

Also, there is no longer any active player above 2400.
Seems like the mods often wait for players to cross the 2400 threshold before they ban them.

I did wonder how Capa was 2400 here and 1300ish on ICC...

Much as I hate to benefit from anyone's demise I'm overjoyed to finally crack the top 527. One step closer to the magic 512.

OK I just have to asked why 512 and what is so magic about it?

512...that's niggling me. what is 512? It means something.

A friend PM'd me. It's the binary thing.

1 = 1
2 = 10
4 = 100
8 = 1000
16 = 10000
32 = 100000
64 = 1000000
128 = 10000000
256 = 100000000
512 = 1000000000

It must be that.

(still unsure. 512 is nibbling again - I hate things like this.)

Re8 is bad on it's own. In the main lines the knight goes there, since there's no other good place for it after g5. After Re8 moving h6 outright loses to the following push. White has a lot of options and can think about Bd3 and sacrifice a minor piece on g7 or anything to open up the g and h files. It was a poor opening choice by him followed up with two losing engine moves.

Perhaps Double G thinks there's going to be a 9-round knockout tournament?

(There being 2**x players in an x-round knockout: 2 in a single match, 4 in a 2-round, etc.)

It's the old grain of rice on the chessboard thing. At this point you start to realize you can't eat it all...

I just found out I am ranked 6406 on RHP. I guess I have a long way to go.
