In addition to being World Champion, Jose R. Capablanca was also featured in the 20-minute Russian silent movie, "Chess Fever." Here's the link:

P.S. See how many other famous chess players you can identify besides Capablanca. The winner gets a fabulous no-prize!

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterI saw Torre's name, so I knew him for sure. The others were Rudolph Spielmann, Ernst Grunfeld, Richard Reti, Frank Marshall and F.D. Yates.

If you haven't already got a translation for the Russian, I know someone who could do it and I'll post it here for you. I'd be quite interested to find out what it said myself.
Freddie 2006 got the most names, so he's the winner of the fabulous no-prize! Congratulations, Freddie 2006. I'm guessing this must have been shot before, during or after the famous Moscow 1925 tournament. I recognized Capablanca, Grunfeld, Marshall, Yates, Reti, Spielmann and Torre in the film. Maybe there are more. Didn't recognize Alekhine or Bogo though. Thanks for playing.
