what are the themes for this opening for white other than c5?

since i dont use it the most i know about it is that white often plays Nf3 followed by d4 exd4 Nxd4 and white often(or is it always.) plays for a kingside attack and black plays on the queenside often with the half open c file(after the exchange mentioned above.) an important tool in blacks counterplay.

Apparently it goes like this

Caro-Kann, Classical
1 e4 c6
2 d4 d5
3 Nc3 dxe4
4 Nxe4 Bf5
5 Ng3 Bg6
6 h4 h6
7 Nf3 Nd7

my mistake thought since you mentioned c5 you were talking about sicilian.

To tell you the truth I've never seen a Classic Caro-Kann where Black plays c5...

Yeah, that's because if Black wants that, he usually just plays the Sicilian.

I mean c5 in a later stage of the game to open the game. Most of the Classical games I've seen has Black Castle Queenside where the pawn belongs on c6 so as not to weaken the Queenside.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought you meant that Black should play c5. Yes a common plan seems to be a c4-c5 pawn advance, Knight on e4, and sometimes even an Rook lift on the h file.
