someone just bishop sac'd me...ill post when the game is done...
Originally posted by JusuhI love to sac, sac and sac some more, but Bxf7 doesn't give anything close to a pieces' worth of compensation. As a rule, you can sacrifice a pawn to keep your opponent from castling. Sacking a whole piece when you only have one other piece developed will probably only work against a much weaker opponent.
4.Bxf7!? is not that bad. People who say its terrible are usually same who love static, boring closed positions. Bxf7 is not objectively good move, but it has surprise factor + universal "cool" move factor on its side.

Well I get some compensation for being 2 points down after 5 moves.
1) Early mate threat (unlikely but still forcing)
2) Open center which suits my play - I am more likely to be able to use the open e-file than white
3) Active Q
4) White cannot castle & will have problems activating the Rh1
5 ...[text shortened]... xe4
White to move
