    I don't know if this one has been posted before. White to play and checkmate black in three (3) moves.

    Am I missing something after Qf1+? King is forced, Rook mates on 2nd move.

    The position is legal, it is possible to construct a game from scratch that leads to this position.

    not for kicks. Mate in 3 is the FASTEST way to give checkmate

    That's the one I found. I'm confused because the person posting this puzzle is rated 2000+.

    All those mates except Rook coming off the g column work with the Queen on e1 and d1 also.
