I am trying to find out if chess will be featured @ the 2004 Olympics or is 2008 the target date, I thought it would happen this year as exhibition only.

I thought chess has been at the olympics for many years now... I also know that there are US chess teams competing in 04 olympics

Didn't chess get rejected into becoming an olympic sport?

We all know the Russians would clearly win gold anyways

So I guess I just misread something!

You are right about the Russians winning.
I would complain though because the US mens basketball will always win the Gold, even if they lose 1 out of 40 games or so every 3 Olympics.

Does anyone here know how to get a book about the games in The Chess Olympic of 1936?
It seems to be very difficult, indeed.😉

"The Munich Olympiad 1936", by Tony Gillam, is available from the British Chess Magazine bookstore: http://www.bcmchess.co.uk/chessbooks/bookschessplayer.html

I have no idea whether it is any good or not. I would guess the ChessBase databases have all the games on them also.
