White to move.
this position was given as a puzzle in the magazine, and the solutions give Bc6 as the winning move.
here's what they say exactly on the solutions page:
"1.Bc6! threatens 2. Bxd7 and 2. Qxa6. On 1. ... Qxc6 White mates with 2. Qxf8+! Kxf8 3. Re8. Instead Black resigned after 1. ... Bc8 Bxd7"
why not 1. ... Qxa3?

how were they wrong...any self respecting GM would resign they said that it threatens Bxd7 and Qxa6 and Qxa6 is played or after ...Qxa3 then Rxa3 followed by Rxa6
no!
white is winning no matter what.
the problem is that CL failed to offer discussion about Black's best line. that qualifies as a mistake.
