This reminds me of a story about a year ago when Walter Browne signed up for a poker event and the National Open (chess) in Las Vegas. He unexpectedly won over $58K in the poker event, but he couldn't be in two places at once. He had to skip the chess tournament.

Of course chess players do many things but Poker is a completely different game and I don't see the relevance. Yes, Poker is probably more financially lucrative due to the lower barrier of entry, but as a game it has never attracted me like chess.
