Do any of you already have a predetermined course of action you will take before you play an opponent? In other words, do you already know what you are going to do before you play?๐Ÿ˜•

I'm not quite sure what your asking. If I know who my opponent is, usually in sectionals or matches then I look at his games before the game and decide which opening to play. Once the game is started you just play the position. You can't plan before the game that i'm going to beat him this way, or i'll make this sacifice. You just play your best.

Sorry for the mix up. I guess you've answered though: "Once the game is started you just play the position."

rahimk is right but also there are a lot of GM's and IM's or what ever there called that have plans before the game begins. such as IM (i think hes an im๐Ÿ˜•)Josh Waitzkin i think his last name is played a man whos name i dont know but his opponent had a plan against josh to control all the dark squares. i dont know why, but i do know he lost. so you have to decide yourself on your plan if you even decide to have one.

I know which game you are talking about. Its part of the chessmaster lectures, however that plan of dark squares was made during the game not before hand. You never know what opening your opponent will play.
