    Right now I'm a mid 1300s level player (based on Yahoo scoring if that means anything).

    I learned most of what I know from self study, mostly from Chessmaster 9000. I've reached a ceiling where I'm not getting any better. My next goal is to up my skills where I can be consistently in the 1400s, but I'll only rarely break that level.

    Is there any software you would recommend, or any other recommendations? I'm in Iraq so my resources are limited. I have access to the internet and I can order software and books. I haven't found any Soldiers anywhere that I can learn from. Believe it or not my modest little ranking pretty much destroys most casual players.

    Get this book:
    Chess tactics by Paul Littlewood.Best book on tactics for lower level players,imo.After that get a book with tactical puzzles.Any will do.

    For software I have no idea really.Heard good things about ct-art as mentioned by searcy.
