I am trying to convince Santa to bring me something good (not that I
have been good this year) How many of the top 20 use Chessbase?
Would it help someone of my standard?

I don't use Chessbase, but hopefully I will after Christmas...if my wife
gets the hint, that is. Till now I've been using SCID and some online
databases, but I know they really don't compare.

Chessbase looks superb, BUT it is advertised as including a
Grandmaster strength analysis engine how does this tie in with the
ethics of correspondence chess?🙂

I have Chessbase 7, which is - as you say - superb.
It has several analysis engines, which can be activated at the press of
a button.

How does this tie in with the ethics of correspondence chess?

Chessmaster is a very good program, there most recent version is 9000. 😀

does chessbase's analysis do more that just suggest moves. I'd be interested in a program that can break down a position for you.
