Does it not come with a manual?
If so:
1) open the case (usually a plastic recepticle around 200mm x 150mm x 15mm) by laying the dvd/cd etc on a flat surface with the fronticepiece facing upwards.
The side you "open" has 2 parts that are joined by a flanged rim & should be located on the right-hand-side. The other side can be opened also, but requires more force.
2) once you have achieved success in step 1) (above) continue to step 3) (below)
3) the now opened box should have a cd/dvd round shiny disc on the inside of the innards of the packaging on the right as you look at it
4) the left-hand-side portion of the inside of the case should contain a manual (a popular phrase for a small, often partially laminated paper-based booklet explaining most of the functions of the software disc also included)
5) read the manual (or RTFM for short)
6) good luck & if you ever need help brushing your teeth please P.M me
7) don't ask me to explain what a "P.M" is
bye

How does it show? Does it show who is # of pawns in the lead with space and what not?
This is basically the maximum of it's eval function over it's horizon, in other words, what it believes is the best attainable position for white after so many moves (a ply is a half move). So if it says +2 at 20 ply, it means at 10 moves deep it's evaluation function scores at white is better 2 pawns.
This could be space or time or material advantage according to how it's function works.
