I was thinking about getting chessmaster 9000 or 10th edition to improve my game, chessmaster users, is it worth buying it? If so, how much has it helped you
especially for the price I paid (£0) 😉 how much should it be??
Originally posted by Dance Master MCI have the 10th Edition, and the tutorials have helped me immensely. I went through them not long after I had started to play chess, and it got me over the first stage where everything just looks like a big chaos rather quickly. I reached an RHP rating of 1500 approximately half a year after I started playing, and I mostly blame the tutorials for that.

The tutorials in Chessmaster are very good and worth having. As far as it's game, I've always found it to be a bit odd, computer-like and stodgey, not like a sharp human player, but strong nevertheless. I've drawn against Chessmaster at 10 seconds/move, but Fritz at the same time opens me up like a can of fish and tears me up in short order.
