Hi,
I have been thinking about for a while now about getting a citrine.... as i really like the idea on a almost 'proper' board, and the ability to hook up to the net with many engines. It's a lot of money and obviously i won't tell the wife how much it cost!! lol. I do not know much about this type of machine except for what is on the net and the issue's you may or may not have with connecting to the - net. Has anyone gone down this route? if so what do you think?
Also the next step up - dgt boards are they worth the extra or should i go for the novag??.. What are the advantages??
With regards to engines as i'm not that strong a player can you 'detune' the citrine by using weaker engines with a view to increase the strength as you yourself improve??
Cheers.

Regarding playing programs, most have various setting for the level of play you want. Fritz for example even has a setting that will play to your level. If you play like a beginner, it will play like that. In a years time, if you play like a Grandmaster, it will play like a Grandmaster. It also has a sparring mode which will allow the odd tactical shot. This is useful as if you play vs computers alot you get lazy looking out for cheap tactics as normally even a weak program wont fall for a 2 move combo.
