I'd be interested to hear some feedback about these two options for white against the sicilian. I want to limit my study as I try to learn my openings. Initially, I thought c3 was my choice, but I caught some literature on nc3,g2,etc that seemed promising. I've only got one game started w/ the main line closed so I'm curious about other people's experience w/ it.
Also...I don't seem to find too many books that focus on one type of opening. Can anyone suggest some good books that give a lot of info on 1) the ruy lopez 2) queens indian defense 3) the closed sicilian (w/ a lot about white's options and goals). I'm trying to practice what I preach by playing a little less and actually reading and studying a little bit.
Thanks a lot and happy holidays everyone.

Just keep pushing those kingside pawns and get your queen in there. Its quite hard for black to cope with the attack unless he knows what he's doing. Michael Adams enjoys this sort of chess.

I've heard of some good books on this but I don't play it myself. I thought there was a review recently of one on The Week In Chess web site. Visit www.chesscenter.com/twic.html.
Merry Christmas.
