I am an intermediate player (barely not beginner) and I am studying openings in relationship to their middle and end games.
It looks like one can change a Stonewall to a Colle with which side has the forward knight, i.e. f3 vs. c3. should white wait until black has castled to decide how to complete d4, e3, Bd3? Which opening is stronger and why? What type of attack strategy besides King's knight and Queen adv to attack h7, is viable?

First comes the fork and the pin, and only much later Stonewall and Colle questions...
Originally posted by ladyviola66I don't really care for either opening. They're just not ambitious enough. The main indicator is White's early e3 played without provocation from Black. Why should White voluntarily shut in the Bc1 without at least seeing what setup Black plays first?
