On one of my wanderings through RHP i came across this game between David Tebb and Meman. The level of play in this game is just superb and is one of the rare games i've seen on this site between top 20 players that actually results in checkmate. My hat goes off to you both, great stuff! 🙂

I thought David plays brilliantly in the opening. The advance of the h-pawn wins two tempos by forcing the retreat of the bishop with h6. He then exchanges off memans white bishop and the resulting exchange leaves him with 3 pieces developed to blacks one, while also cramping blacks development with he h-pawn. Quite brilliant (though im sure it's probably been played before in master chess). If memory serves me correctly i think David actually plays the carro K as black so im sure he must be pretty well versed in theory for that particular line.

Originally posted by Mephisto2Yes, I wonder why black didn't play 17. ...Nxf2.. it should give him an advantage in material, and I don't see the attack to be that strong to compensate it. Overall, it was a very strong game, 'till the end.
White offered a pawn with 16.g4 awhich black took and an exchange sac on the next move with 17.Rhg1 which would have given him a strong attack for the material, but there black chickened out and from then on, white had the better position. That is how I see this - very nice- game.
