I'm going to study the danish gambit. So I would like to hear any suggestions for a good chess book about this opening.

Hm not sure about a good book, I learnt it from looking at master games. If you have any questions on it id be happy to answer :-)

I don't know any books on it either, but here's a good example of what white wants to accomplish. The greedier and more aggressive black is early, the better for white. Not exactly stellar play, but an interesting game. I remember seeing this a while back when I was doing a Google search on gambits and the Danish kept popping up everywhere so I bookmarked a few.

my favourite opening! i hate slow, boring games. the danish gambit is a great way of making a game exciting.

unfortunately i don't have any books, i just thought i'd put forth my two cents...

Thanks for the links. But since I'm planning to buy my first chess book, it would be rally nice with some recomendations.

psst: Jeg tør ikke at bruge den mod dig i nu, jeg har kun spillet den et par gange.

the idea of making one's first chess book about the danish gambit just rocks. :-)

I've been meaning to take that puppy up myself for a while.

Why don't we put up some ideas for lines here? Map out our own book! Or play some unrated games against each other in all the lines....I have been meaning to go "old school" Tony for a while now.

John Lutes wrote a book simply called 'Danish Gambit'. I tried looking for it at the library some weeks ago without succes. It's available from online bookstores though.

What about a Danish Gambit thematic tournament? Has it been done yet? I suggested that our clan could sponsor such a tournament (us being a Danish clan and all) but noone seemed interested. Actually, I think I'll post a petition in the tourny forum. Come over and support!

Online I also found a book called "Danish Dynamite" by Karsten Müller and Martin Voigt, but it seems to have gotten shitty reviews. Hence the topic.

I'm with you all the way.

So hopefully I get a chance to start the game by saying: "So we meet again svin1, but this time I'm the master."
