Any of you guys play the Danish Gambit with success CC or OTB?

I don't play it because I think it offers to simplify too quickly with lines like:
1.e4...e5
2.d4...exd4
3.c3...dxc3
4.Bc4...cxb2
5.Bxb2...d5
6.Bxd5...Nf6
7.Bxf7+...Kxf7
8.Qxd8...Bb4+
9.Qd2...Bxd2+
10.Nxd2

black to move

& as white you've gotta feel like your teeth have been pulled.

Play the King's gambit or Morra instead. They both have far more attack potential.

But I am planning on taking on c3 with the knight. I think it is much better than Bc4. It is recommended in the book gambiteer by Nigel Davies. It can easily transpose I guess into the Goring Gambit but this move order may let you move the f pawn.

After 1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.c3 black can play 3...d5 with equal position.

When I just started at RHP (my rating about 1400) I had it played against me, was butchered, asked what it was called, and played it myself a couple of times. If your opponent doesn't know how to handle the gambit, it can be a huge advantage. If (s)he does, you're in trouble.
