Does anyone own Deep Fritz 10 on these boards? I have always been a fan of Fritz and looking to upgrade my copy of Fritz 7. I currently have a single processor though (AMD Athlon 64 2.2 Ghz) and will probably not upgrade for at least another year. Is it worth getting Deep Fritz on a single processor or should I just go with Fritz 10? I’m not sure if paying the double price is worth it and would like to hear some other opinions. What I plan on using it for mostly will be training and analyzing my completed games.

Fritz 10 = $52.95
Deep Fritz 10 = $109.95

Fritz 10 is fine. I have it. Fritz 9 is fine. I still have it. Fritz 8 is fine for analyzing games for most humans. Deep Fritz if you have multiple processors and multiple wallets. Deep Fritz is mostly hype.

deep fritz to beat the other engine users 😉

otherwise, the standard fritz 10 is perfectly acceptable (+ free playchess!)

No, it is unlikely you will get an actual dual processor but dual core. Fritz 10 on a dual core 2.8GHz runs ~1800kn/sec which is wayyy more than enough. Invest in the Rybka engine instead.

If you are going to upgrade your computer with a dual core processer in a year then get Deep Fritz.

If you dont have a duel core then Deep Fritz will have zero improvement over a normal Fritz.

I have Fritz 7...it crushes me at 5 seconds/move. At 10 seconds per move, a strong expert might beat it occasionally.
Picked it up for 5 dollars in an old throwaway bin.
