Well, I feel like I'm betraying the Mystic and Secret Order of King's Gambit Players here, but... here are some tips.
1. Do NOT leave your king in the center. Thats important always, but King's Gambit players, especially, will be attacking the center. (Admittedly, in the 3. g4 lines it might be a little difficult to pull off a kingside castling safely)
2. Defend the f file, especially, f7, double-especially before castling. The quickest and most painful way to get mated against the KG is to ignore f7. For gods sakes, don't play f6 to try and defend it. Trust me on this.
3. Be ready to give the pawn back at the appropriate time.
4. Calculate a bunch. KG games are super-tactical.
When you are playing against me, it is actually better to ignore all of this advice. 🙄
