HI, It's kind of frustrating when you create games only to have them deleted by other players. They join your game and then delete it right after. How rude is that? So here's a thread just for all you deleters out there. Everyone that has someone join their game and delete it immediately afterwards, post their name here!

I don't think it is good form to name and shame.
If the game is gone just as you have been seated.
At least you know you haven't been defeated!
from the FAQ:
"If you receive a challenge you do not want to play you can just delete the game. The challenger will be notified by email that you have declined their challenge. Do not feel that you have any obligation to play a game you don't want to."
oh, and people might have deleted your game also because you're provisional. because many provisional players don't finish their games, and although it's not fair to treat newcomers like this, not finishing games is very annoying. and from us non-subscribers such a game also occupies one of our 6 game slots.
also, if people use 'go to your next game' -button, they might have gone and made a move or two on your game, before they they look at your profile/rating/etc. and decide not to take your challenge. some subscribers have over 100 simultaneous games going on, so it's pretty good guess they might not stop to check you out in the middle of making moves.

I suggest you simply put out a new invite. It doesn't cost you anything except a few seconds time. If you are here to play chess, then this seems like the most effective approach to enjoying the site; rather than getting upset and trying to publicly shame people.

Originally posted by Forest9I am not really getting this thing that subscribers have against non subscibers. Why do you care if someone is using this site without paying. Are you getting a commision or something?
I'm also feeling poetic- following a non-subscriber's post
Oh, Unsubscribed, how can it be
You have the nerve to play for free?
And (prose now) why do some players ask for challenges only from non-subcribers?

I have no problem with non-subscribers palying for free. My problem lies with those who whine about the limitations they have....
Originally posted by Forest9read the front page. it pretty clearly states FREE in capital letters.
No, I wish I were. But this site is excellent and needs funds if it is to develop. Or do you think that people should work for free?
Anyone with the means to be on the net can pay the subscription.
"Red Hot Pawn supports turn-based online chess with thousands of people from all over the globe. You choose who and when you play. Games don’t have to be finished in one sitting - your opponent doesn’t even have to be online as you make your moves. No downloads are required - and it is FREE to register and play. "
if the opinion of the site-owners bother you, maybe you should go somewhere else?
Originally posted by Forest9I agree with you that this is a great site, but what has that got to do with people working for free!? If the people behind this site give you the option to play for free till the end of days, then thats their business.

Dont think you are in a position to decide that "everyone with access to the internet" is able to pay the subscription fee. Just let people decide for themselves, if they are happy playing only 6 games so be it....
and back on subject... I agree with the first poster, it sucks when people accept open invites only to delete it two seconds later. But then again, I am not really sure if this "crime" is big enough to create a thread with these so called deleters...
just my two cents... now lets see if anyone moved by now, so I can actually play some chess...
