I'm playing a game (not going to say which one as it is in progress). I played an incredibly dumb move that lost everything.

I'm thinking "why did I do that?"
Then I thought, "oh well, just move on to the next game"
I bring up the next game and play a move.

Then I bring up the game after that.
And it is the exact same position where I made the horrendous blunder. And its the same opponent. It is the same game. But it is the position before the blunder. I now play a sensible move and everything is fine.

I am very confused. Did I time travel back to the moment before the blunder?

I think I might have the explanation for this, unsure though, might need verifying.

In some parts of the world, as I type, Saint Nick has already begun his rounds
travelling from chimney to chimney delivering gifts to millions of children.

The critical factor is - especially due to the ever-increasing population the world now has -
the speed in which 'ol Santa has to travel now has to be so fast
it could potentially be causing tremendous rifts, both in space and time.

My theory is that as you pressed 'Submit',
it happened at the exact same nanosecond that Santa's sleigh produced a sonic wave,
sending everyone back just enough time that we never noticed it,
yet it would have still caused an impact.

So instead of your game going forward a move, it went backwards!

... Again, this is just a theory, which requires more examination, with yet more Baileys on ice,
which is what I've ran my basis off.

Seasons greetings!

@64squaresofpain

I think you must be on the correct line. I was watching a film yesterday when
Santa said to make sure he visited every house in the world he had to stop time.
Nobody notices but I'm sure that is what happened with Long Necked Ruminant.

When time was restarted their move must been in time limbo and the original
position reverted back to before the blunder.

(between you and me I think he has been at the Christmas brandy )

@greenpawn34
I can assure you that I always drink responsibly!
For example, when a bottle of Whiskey says "70cl" I make sure to consume 70 cl!
Always follow directions for safe consumption.
