So do the big boys:

Kasparov screws up, looks like someone shoved a popsickle up his rear.

You suppose he left his Queen hanging LOL? It was probly a move most of us wouldn't even realize was bad.

Yes...I think I make faces when I blunder. So do most players.
But how imporntant is that?? No very in my opinion!

I make faces when I blunder, sort of. If I leave a piece en prise for a reason, then I'll definitely make a face.

I dont tend to make a face but more I get a sickening feeling , then it is just a case of keeping calm and hoping my opponent misses the mistake (which has happened quite a few times - they must think that because I am so calm that everything is ok and it must be they who have failed to see something).

If it was a game losing blunder I tend to find I laugh at such bad play.

I'd like to show the new chick from logistics my "O" face -- you know what I'm talking about:

I shout, "AWWWW" and throw my hands up in the air...

During this time the people in the Library are wondering if I spilled my coffee and are telling me to shush.

I find it rather amusing when people do this ... kind of draws attention to the trap rather than the reverse wouldn't you say?

Very hard to pull off without making yourself look like a twit* I feel.

*Wrong vowel but I suspect the right one won't get past the profanity checker.

It's kind of hard to describe in words what I do when I make a blunder on RHP. So I made a video 😀

You think so? That face shouldn't be like you're a complete schizophrenic, just start yawning or blow out a deep breath or something like that. It's easy to make the opponent to notice, that you are hiding your worries. A good way is also to start drumming the table with your fingers nervously. What you shouldn't do is start screaming or spill your coffee over the table and/or your opponent.

This is a funny kid. If one understands what he says there, it starts to seem completely absurd. Do people like him exist in reality also?

When I blunder, particularly when I hang a piece ...satori: suddenly I realise that I 'm a 45 years old patzer that I deserve to be rated 800 (for starters)

I was once playing a pretty strong player (Steve Berry, about 220 ECF at the time) and suddenly his face turned bright red! I realised he must have seen something that I had missed and so looked more carefully and discovered a simple tactic which allowed me to win a piece for a pawn. Unfortunately he outplayed me in the ending and I could only draw.

This is the reason I always shield my face when I'm playing chess:

That's how I act when I take the Debates Forum too seriously.
