hi all
i was playing this game here and i thought i could of won it but ended in a draw then i looked in the book and i think it was a theoretical draw



what about starting from move 53 can i win? or from move 61 or both draws

I would have thought that 64. Kg7 would have won for you. You did the right thing immediately before this by blocking his rook and allowing your king to hide behind your rook, but then you didn't actually move your king to allow your pawn to queen!

are u talking about going Kg8? if so he can just go Rf8 and check for the draw right?

If I'd meant Kg8 I'd have said Kg8.

Yes, his king has got too close.

I would recommend setting up various Lucena positions and playing them against an engine, you'll soon get the idea. Read the Wikipedia entry first, but don't worry if it's a little unclear. Practice makes perfect!

yea i know about them, i have the 12 theoretical rook vs rook and pawn positions in a book, used to know them but now forgot some of them well tnx all
