Is this the kind of scam that ends up in New In Chess, or the kind that stays in the RHP forums? (I don't live in Dresden, but I'm just wondering what to look for)

Never mind 'New in Chess'.

It's the kind of scam that will hit the National Press.
If you are going pull a scam then do it properly.
