I would just like to know who plays drunk chess on this site, if it makes you play better or worse. For instance just the odd beer may help you focus more sharply on the game in question. Also, for a laugh - the greatest victory whilst intoxicated, any regretful insults!
and finally, the most cataclysmic blunders! Any claimants to the crown?

It's the worst thing to do while playing:queens given like bitches, multiple knight forks and lots of useless moves;also if I plan a strategy I'm going to forget it.
Surely sometimes it makes you find a genial move, but I guess 80% of the times drinking makes my chess worst..............BURP

Yeah, I've seen that game with the shot glasses, it must be lethal!
Does the captured pieces player have to drink the glass or the player
who took the piece?

Hey,
Good question (hiccup!),
I don't drink very often, but after a night out in the pub recently, I came home and made moves in all 14 games I had in progress...(at the time, these were all classic moves)
The next day I could have fainted...at least 3 unforgiveable blunders..the rest were average at best.
My advise...don't get over the board unless you're under the limit
By all means, it's how I learned to play the game. A friend of mine introduced me to chess and we would stay up all night drinking beer and playing. Won a few and lost many! I always have a scotch or a beer (or both) when playing. It's a good way to relax and mellow out. I wish I could employ a 'fatty' along with, but due to my employment I can no longer indulge... It's not how you play the game it's how much fun you have when playing!
"Life is a long arduous journey, bring plenty of beer"
Me and some of my clan members specialize in this. We call making moves while over the limit "en pissant".
In the first 3 weeks of joining RHP I was quit drunk a lot and decided to take moves very "en pissant" like. Learnt my lesson though, lost a few games so the drinking got reduced. Now I have no more than a couple of shots of whiskey, or a can or 2 of guinness.
Word of advice too, while drunk and logged into RHP never think its a good idea to let your girlfriend take a few moves for you, unless she is Alexandra Kosteniuk. I remember being 2 knights ahead in one game and the next morning when I looked I lost a rook a queen and a knight. Needless to say, I keep her away from the computer room now.
