I was tracking this auction an old chess clock described as being used in the World match tween Alkeline/ Capablanca. Its a great piece of chess history.
It got a nice chunk of change. Do we have any collectors among us.
I have a number of miniature sets... some Fischer stuff and a signed commemortive set from the Leko/Kramnik world that I actually won on the game site during that match... But im also providing a link to the clock http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8797027748&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
BTW Im no expert so if correction is needed .. go ahead but dont flame me
😀
Thanks for posting the link. You're right, if it's authentic, it's a nice piece of chess history. Chess clocks are an interesting area of collecting. Most of the interesting ones that are still available for reasonable amounts are the heavy, wooden, Soviet-made clocks. I have a Jantar made of plastic and used primarily in the '60s and '70s. I would like to get a wooden Russian clock from the '40s and '50s, but haven't bought one yet. Those go for around $125, but since they come mainly from Latvia or Russia, the shipping adds another $35 onto the price.

It's when he played the English Opening and astonished Spassky! And, my own baby bottle and a diaper was autographed by Fischer when I was only a year and some days old. I even have a box of never before distributed Fischer snack candy that was never put on the market because he wouldn't release his patent. All the gummy things are in the shape of rooks with 72 on the side of the candy and a side shot of the famous World Champion. Capablanca also gave my great grandfather a pocket watch because he beat Capablanca in Vienna. I partied in Baku at Garry Kasparov's mansion. He's got a sauna shaped like a newspaper Queen's head - like in the newspaper you know? I have a broken pawn Alekhina broke after he lost a game to Capablanca. I'll sell it for 50 cents. Anyway, I'm selling all of this for $1,000,000 billion dollars. Anyone interesting? BAHAHAHAHHAHA Had you going.
