It's official. I will not be site champion in 2009. That will have to wait until 2010 (yeah, right 😉). I did get 75 points of a possible 84 but User 88819 beat me twice (and soundly at that) and will be advancing.
I do have to say though, that's one fun tournament!

I never had any illusions about winning the tournament, although I was hoping to get to the second round when I saw that there were no 2000 players in my group (58). The truth is though, that even though I did finish behind a player who is rated lower than I, I was still pretty happy with my performance. Actually, it so happens that in another critical tournament game in a different tournament, which I will not reference because it is still in progress, I believe I may have made an important breakthrough. Though, believe me, after it's over, you'll all hear all about it. 🙂
