1.c4, c5 2.b4

what does anyone think of this gambit? any analysis? is this a standard opening or something new? i like offering random gambits, twd b cool if one of them turned out to b gd 🙂

Too many Prawns are being moved straight away. This is generally weakening. However, if White gets his Queen out quickly then the opening can have its merits. Plus, if White can plant a Horsey on h3 without much delay, this will distract Black whether or not the gambit is accepted or declined.

My database has two such games, one that followed 2... b6 which white won, and one that followed 2... cxb4, which was a draw.
