I was arguing with another chess player about this position, I think white has an edge and he thought black was better. How would you evaluate it?

I think White's definitely better. You can plant a piece on the e4 square, castle long, and work on black's airy kingside.

The white king is safer than black's, main reason is because it can castle long and will be better protected by the pawn barrier.

White has better centre domination and more pieces pointing that way(queen+2knigths+pawns), while black has only a knight and two pawns, this means better movility for white.

White has a growing attack on the king side after long castle is done and should win it, I have no more time to keep analysing but I think as for now white is better.

ahh, and h4 pawn capture by black would be bad idea I think.

I like white here. He has an attack going on the kingside, is clear to castle, and has a nice center.

It my opinion (of course I'm weaker than most people here so I wouldn't recomment you listen to mine) White is clearly better. He has good central control, Black has a weak kingside, and white could get an attack rolling going with Ne4, O-O-O and g4 followed by g4 and h5, busting open the king side. Then he brings his rook into the game, and should have a nice little attack going. If it's black's move, he should opt for h6, and try to defend his position.

I'd opt for black here, partly as black long term has the better bishop, and dominates the black squares. Black can seal up the kingside pawns should white's advance. If the black bishops were still around the story may be very different.
h6 is the best move as it claims g5, preventing white from getting a knight to e6.

I'd say, push the g-pawn. Don't let black take it for it is important for prying open the kingside even more. g5 and if black takes with his pawn, hxg5 white plays Rxg5 opening the file and controlling, a valuable positional advantage. If black plays h5 instead of hxg5 white plays g6+ and creates a hole deep in the black camp. Notice that the queen is focused on the g6 square also. white should then castle long and push more kingside pawns too free the bishop and make room for the other rook

I like white. Especially his/her kingside attacking chances.
