Ever play a similar skill level player, who you cant' ever seem to beat. Like they never make mistakes. Frustrating.

If you can't ever beat them then they're not the same level of skill. They're better than you.

Nevermind Red.
Yeah, veager i know what you mean.
I have a foe like that, although always higher rated than he, there's something about the way he plays that prevents me from beating him.
But I will keep trying.😉

For me it just seems the I play crappy against certain people. They're usually rated lower then me and I end up playing them then my rating falls like a garbage bag full of fruitcake. Well, probably not that bad as my rating usually goes back up 😛.

I agree with Josh, it seems that some opponents have a certain style or method that I just struggle with. And games with others with similar ratings seem to go very smoothly.

The rating system allows a fair estimation of one's skill. Just because you can't beat a particular individual who's rated the same...does not mean your rating is wrong...just means you don't match up well against the player....but that you can most likely beat folks that beat him.

I had two friends in college and we loved to play ping pong. I could alway beat one of them....they always beat the other, and that one always beat me.

How was it I could beat the guy who always beat me? Who knows...but it was so.

Usually things like these happen when your opponent is a very talented attacker and you're not a great defender etc... The style of play of your opponent may be one that is able to take advantage of a certain weakness that you have.
