Anyone wanna post their favorite lost games?
My first contribution: Game 477373
Check out move 17 onwards! Of course, if I'd accepted the bishop sac, I'd have been immediately sunk. If I'd failed to sac the knight, ditto. The vise just CLOSED. Great tactical play from my opponent.
After a relatively long time of not commiting huge blunders, (or at least not getting caught doing so 😉) I completely missed a forking threat in a game which is not yet lost, but most probably will be: Game 470803
Edit: almost forgot - my most educational loss: Game 334067 - Edmond Dantes demonstrates how to use time and tempo in chess to your advantage. I got very efficiently demolished! 🙂

When you lose early on in a game, it is memorable and embarassing. Here is a game that I will never forget. I was black, and was going to try my hand at the Sicilian Dragon (It was the last round of a tournament, I thought I would go for an interesting game). I read an entire book that all I got out of was that if you dont want to be mated early, watch out for f7. That is precisely what I didn't do.

I won't exactly call this loss one of my favorites, but it is one of my more memorabe because I learned the hard way about a trap that is fairly common in my favorite defense. I remember watching my opponent pick his knight up and almost before he put it down I knew where it was headed. I just sat there, silent and dumbfounded, until the gentleman to my right whispered, "If it makes you feel any better, I once saw a master lose in the exact same way." You know what? It didn't.
Ever since that game, I've always let out a little smile whenever my opponent would play 5.Qe2, since it isn't really such a terrific move if Black doesn't fall for the trap.
