Most chess players probably don't enter OTB tournaments (really missing out!) or play online. They just have a few games with friends and family. Thus, rejoice in being mediocre and elevate the group to which you're comparing yourself. For example, I'd hate to be average among the whole population but I wouldn't mind being average among geniuses. 😀
