Fics

Does anyone here have any trouble conecting to FICS? Every time I try to login I get the following message:
Error loging in: Port 5000: Connection refused: connect.

Anyone know how to solve this?

CTRL+F4 should do the trick

Ok...

That takes me to a login screen, but then its black after I enter login details.

no problems here logging in right now.

I'm not sure. I don't think so, because when I searched for it it said that my windows firewall was not on, or something like that. Could be a university thing though, becaues I'm connecting through my universities internet.

That is your problem, universities mostly give you limited computer managment. That's why I turned to RHP and met correspodence in first place, I was looking for site playable from univeristy computer..🙂

Ah well, at least it will give me less excuses not to work...

Have you tried using FICS's java client? Or does that also use port 500?

I haven't yet, I guess I could give that a shot.
