    Even doing that won't necessarily increase your rating. For example, if you win 55% of your games, then you will still losing rating points if the rating of your average opponent is 100 points less than yours.

    Similarly, you can gain rating points even if you score only 45% if your average opponent out-rates you by 100+ points.

    Take your time! Don't play too many games at the same time. Write your move, don't play it and the day after check if your move is smart. Use flip board and take the place of your opponent. Ask yourself what would you play as opponent. Take your time!
