Well done the Hard Core Pawn Stars for sponsoring the Bird's Opening tournament.

However, looking at the early wins for black, I wonder how many variants of fool's mate there are in this opening... and whether the tournie will catch all of them 😉

You have the From Gambit: Lasker Variation of wich this game is a good example how not to play it as white:

Game 289092

After black plays 3...g5, the only move for white is 4.d4, the game is over when white plays anything else...

Here is a game between me and Feivel where you can see how it should be played:

I wasn't totally correct, after 4...g5 (and not 3...g5, sorry for that) 5.g3 is an option too, but I wouldn't advise it...🙂
