I want to know, what the "fools mate" exactly is - and what the "scholars mate" is. I want to contribute something to http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schäferschach (german).
Is it

1. e2-e4 e7-e5
2. Bf1-c4 d7-d6
3. Qd1-f3 Nb8-c6 {?}
4. Qf3xf7#

or

1. e2-e4 e7-e5
2. Bf1-c4 d7-d6
3. Qd1-f3 Ng8-f6 {even "better": attacs the queen}
4. Qf3xf7#

or is it just

1. f2-f4 e7-e6
2. g2-g4 Qd8-h4#

thanks for help,

the third one is called fool's mate, the first two are both the fool's mate, but with a half move difference because of difference between white and black, but my favorite quick mate trap is legall's mate...
1. e4 e5
2. Bc4 d6
3. Nf3 Bg4
4. Nc3 g6
5. Nxe5! Bxd1??
6. Bxf7+ Ke7
7. Nd5 ++
