I just found this quote about Marshall which seems appropriate having read Greenpawn's excellent blog:

"Some of Marshall’s most sparkling moves look at first like typographical errors."

Alas sometimes a whole Marshall game seems like a typographical error.
(although all the great players appear to a have at least one simul disaster on their CV.)

Shoup - Marshall Sioux City Simltaneous 1906

Marshall is giving the simul and it is him that soon ends up in the soup.

    Hi GP.

See if you can identify this one:

    2.Nf3 Nc6
    3.Bc4 Nd4
    4.d3 Nf6
    5.Ng5 d5

    7.exd5 Qxd5
    8.c3 Qxg2
    9.Rf1 Bg4
    10.f3 Nc2+ and white resigns.

    Ok.

I should have explained this a bit better. I was just wondering, with your expansive knowledge of games on here, whether there were in fact, many similar games to this one. It is actually a 5 minute game I played (as black) on another site. It turned out ok, considering I was at work and and had a few distractions.
