I've tried jose, but its extremely slow and constantly crashes, I'd like somehting like chessbase, but for the mac (and free if possible, any suggestions?)

You would need to have X running on your Mac OS X though - or is your Mac prior to version X?

nope i have os x and i saw scid, i was wondering if there was a native app, but if you recommend that i'll install x11, vektor3 is buggy too. (it crashed as i was typing this)
